Which keyword metatags should you use?
This is still an important question to answer.
Metatags are no longer quite so so important as they once were, now that web search engines (google for example) now have intelligent context sensitive spidering capabilities.
However the metatag is still relatively important and should be included in every page on a website.
There are programs which auomatically scan your page and suggest which metatag keywords to use.
Alternatively, just write down the key words that describe a page.
For example the keywords for this page you are currently reading are:
"metatag, metatags, keyword, advice, web, creation, desgin, webmaster"
They should be typed with a comma between each word. The html code required is as follows:
‹meta name="keywords" content="metatag, metatags, keyword, advice, web, creation, desgin, webmaster"›
Use the keyword metatag to help visitor's software (like search engine spiders) understand your web pages.
They are not. As I said earlier, the metatag is less important than it used to be. These days the actual content of the page is of more value than the hidden keywords. The words that you place on the page are the ultimate marketing tool.
If you write clean content, interesting informative information and crisp copy then you get links, you get search indexing and ultimately you get visitors to your website. You, the webmaster are the one who makes the difference between a website that succeeds and a website that fails.
