1) Build a website about one thing. If your website is about EVERYTHING your website is about nothing and nobody will ever visit it.I know it sounds a little bit Zen, but there are enough websites full of rubbish already. This is your only life, so don't waste it inventing con-tricks. Write a great site instead. It will make you richer in the long run.
2. Keep the design simple. If you are thrilled by pretty pictures, feel free to spend a lifetime making your website look amazing. However if you are thrilled by money in the bank. make your website easy to navigate and easy to read. Black and white is popular for a very good reason you know.
2) Write quality content on your subject. Do some research and then write about your topic. Anybody can write 20 paragraphs about anything. At 4 paragraphs per page that is 5 pages. Ok, now write ten more pages. Now write another 50 pages. Now write another fifty. Now write some more. DO YOU GET THE PICTURE?
3) Never hide your google adsense ads. Stick them up-top and in-yer-face. Nobody
gets upset at seeing an ad in return for reading quality content.
4) Get lots of links from other websites. Asking nicely is a very effective proceedure. Don't get caught in scams.
5) Don't spend a penny unless you KNOW it will make a return. Don't buy advice when you can get it for free. And, trust me, there is a lot of great free advice out there on the web.
6) Have another good idea and go back to step 1. I now have 40 websites and will probably have 5 or six more by the end of the year.
7) Have fun. If building websites becomes stressful, go and do something else instead.
